Fanart-type stuff for the book " Watership Down" by Richard Adams. Oh god, beautiful book, it's one of few I've read that can make me cry unshamefully at the ending.. so I had to go and do a piece for it. Because it was very inspirational :3
I was inspired to read it by Julie Dillion's Watership Down piece (www.jdillion.com) I would have liked my art to be all sepia-toned and beautiful like hers, but I didn't think about that, because I SUCK. SO I think this has way too much contrast in color. SHould added a border too.
Eh. The only parts I like are Frith and Inle. It was fun designy-fying them :3 Also the rabbit, who could be Hazel or Fiver or anyone you want is ok, for having no referance.
Ooooh, wow, this is really great looking. Watership down IS a great book....I really have the urge to re-read it now... Personally, I don't think you had too much contrast in this at all - I really like the coloring and such...

Watership Down! That was a great book, this makes me want to read it again... Such an emotional story. This is a masterpiece; it's nice to see something different for once. ^^ A favorite.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
